Brief outline

Kushiro Fisherman's Wharf MOO is the most popular and famous as the sightseeing spot in Kushiro-city.

"MOO" is the abbreviated word of "Marine-Our-Oasis".

This building was built in 1989, and since then, this is the core institution of the waterfront area in Kushiro-city.
And this is well known as the commercial complex with fish markets, souvenir stores, restaurants, and public facilities, such as a post office, a bus waiting room, the medical examination center of Kushiro medical association, Kushiro Municipal Board of Education, and more.
The appearance of MOO represents the sequence of the triangular roofs. Furthermore, the artificial mast and crane express "nature" (crane, fish, and mountain).
The atrium and the slopes inside MOO express "canyons" between three hills surrounded by the marshland and the sea.

The egg-shaped building on the right side of MOO is a greenhouse called "EGG" (Ever-Green-Garden).

The area of the glass which covers "EGG" is the size of 1400 tatami mats, or 9 tennis courts.
During winter, "EGG" is warmed so the room temperature does not drop below 5-degrees Celsius.
In "EGG" as the name of "Ever Green Garden" shows, about 40 kinds of the evergreen broad-leaved trees, growing wild in the Kanto block (the middle area of Japan), are planted.
Although the season of winter in Kushiro is very long, we can enjoy flowers and green (for example, camphor, bayberry, peony, camellia, and more) here in the winter.
As the relaxing place with the sound of the birds chirping and a quiet atmosphere, "EGG" is popular among the citizens of Kushiro and the tourists who visit Kushiro.

There are some lavatories in MOO and EGG, so they are suitable for resting when you take a walk.

"MOO Shopping zone” is a good place to buy unique souvenirs from the Hokkaido and Kushiro area. There are 18 unique shops, selling many marine delicacies, sweets and confectioneries, handicrafts, liquors and more. Most of the items are produced in the Kushiro and Hokkaido area.
When you would like to have lunch, the restaurants in MOO are very useful. There is a restaurant that serves delicious food in Restaurant, and some cafes serving good coffee, light meals and snacks in 1st floor in MOO.

“MOO Ganpeki-Robata” is very popular as a night dining spot among not only the citizens in Kushiro but also the domestic tourists and visitors from abroad.
At “MOO Ganpeki-Robata”, you can enjoy grilling on charcoal and eating fresh fishes, shellfishes, local seafoods and more, beside the famous "Kushiro River" and “Nusamai Bridge”, while feeling the sea breeze and romantic fog.
There are many foods and drinks (including alcoholic beverages, such as beer, japanese sake and shochu) which we serve in “MOO Ganpeki-Robata”. Please come and try to enjoy dining in “MOO Ganpeki-Robata”.

The food court on the 2nd floor in MOO named "KUSHIRO Minato-no-Yatai" is famous as a gourmet spot in Kushiro.
There are 7 booths serving meals and drinks in "KUSHIRO Minato-no-Yatai". They can deliver any foods and drinks to all the tables and all the counters in "KUSHIRO Minato-no-Yatai".

The glass covered building between MOO and Nusamai Bridge is named EGG (Ever Green Garden).
The season of winter in Kushiro is very long, but you can enjoy flowers and green in here all year round. As the relaxing place with the sound of birds chirping and a quiet atmosphere, EGG is popular among the citizens of Kushiro and the tourists who visit Kushiro.
Mini concerts are held here on holidays from spring to autumn.

Note: The mini concerts in EGG are free of charge, and scheduled irregulariy.
